Joe Biden wins state with the largest number of delegates

(Patria) – Former US Vice President Joe Biden secured a key victory in the race for the Democratic presidential candidate, dealing a major blow to his rival Bernie Sanders.

In addition to a big win in the state of Michigan, Biden also won the most support in the states of Mississippi, Missouri, and Idaho.

Instead of the usual electoral criticism of his rival, he thanked Sanders and his supporters for their 'tireless passion' and emphasized that they share a common goal and will 'defeat Trump together'.

The state of Michigan is considered key due to the largest number of delegates. Biden received the support of 715 delegates, while 584 voted for Sanders, who, incidentally, won against Hillary Clinton in that state in the 2016 elections.

Within the Democratic ranks, Biden's victory is already believed. Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm told CNN that 'this is a great signal that people are ready to support someone who will defeat Donald Trump'.

Biden's victory in Michigan is attributed to a decisive win in South Carolina, which gave him enough momentum for multiple wins on 'Super Tuesday' last week. Since then, his campaign has been gaining momentum as even his rivals like Kamala Harris and Cory Booker have endorsed him, reports the British newspaper The Guardian.
