Officers of the Criminal Police Directorate of the RS Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Zvornik Public Security Center, arrested N.S. from Zvornik on suspicion that, as a police officer of the Zvornik CJB, he committed the criminal offenses of abuse of official position or authority and forgery or destruction of official documents, Patria reports.
A report on the discovery of the aforementioned criminal offenses was submitted against N.S. to the Bijeljina District Prosecutor's Office, and the Basic Court in Zvornik ordered him into one-month detention.
As part of the investigation by the Criminal Police Directorate of the RS Ministry of Interior and the Zvornik CJB, it was established that N.S. abused his official position by taking money from several security-interest individuals, and in return, he falsified certain facts in the Register of Fines and Misdemeanor Records used by the RS Ministry of Interior, thereby enabling the individuals for whom he made these corrections to be removed from the records as debtors to the RS Budget for previously unpaid misdemeanor tickets.
Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against N.S., and a decision on suspension has been issued, the RS Ministry of Interior announced.
