One-month detention for Kruškić who cut a police officer with a scythe after refusing to stop his vehicle

(Patria) - The Municipal Court in Gračanica accepted the proposal of the acting prosecutor and ordered a one-month detention for Abdulah Kruškić (62) from Gračanica due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of assault on an official person in the performance of security duties.

Kruškić is suspected that on May 19, 2024, in the place of Pribava near Gračanica, he refused to stop his car for police officers who were conducting a regular traffic control and turned onto a local road.

When two police officers followed him in their car to carry out the official action of checking and establishing his identity, and when one officer approached his car, he grabbed the officer by the shirt through the driver's side window, then continued driving and entered the yard of his house in Pribava. The police officer moved toward him, but Kruškić pushed him away, took a grass scythe, and with the iron part (blade) cut the officer on the right hand, inflicting serious bodily injuries.

When other police officers arrived to assist their colleague and issued a clear order for him to put down the scythe, he continued swinging it at the officers and made serious threats against them, after which the officers subdued him and deprived him of his liberty.

An investigation has also been opened against his son H.K. (23) due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of preventing an official person from performing an official action, as he participated in these events and punched one police officer in the face. He was also deprived of liberty but was released to defend himself from freedom after questioning.

Investigators from the Criminal Police Department of the Gračanica Police Station conducted a criminal investigation of these individuals, and they were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office.

The acting prosecutor issued an order to conduct an investigation and questioned both suspects.
