The Pensioners' Association from the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton joined the Our Party campaign "Markica po markica" (Stamp by stamp), which demands from the HNK Assembly that pensioners with the lowest incomes in this canton do not pay co-payments when visiting doctors, writes Patria.
The Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed the Decision on Maximum Amounts of Direct Participation of Insured Persons in Healthcare Costs in 2009, which, among other things, precisely defined which persons are exempt from paying co-payments.
The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina at that time exempted 14 endangered groups from paying co-payments, and among others, it also exempted pensioners with minimum pensions, as well as citizens over 65 years of age who are without income.
Of all the cantons so far, only the HNK Government continues to ignore this decision or implements it only partially. Stands will soon be set up throughout Herzegovina from which a message will be sent about the discrimination of pensioners in HNK.
