Public companies managed by political parties are failing, BH Telecom's profit fell by 30 percent

Professor at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo and federal deputy Dženan Đonlagić warned that placing Bosnian public enterprises under the control of ruling political parties undermines such enterprises, which can best be seen in the example of BH Telecom, which has recorded a 30 percent loss over the past five years, and which has been managed by SDA cadres for decades, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

In BiH, it is common practice that after elections, winning parties take over public companies for management. Unfortunately, the leaders of the winning parties most often do not appoint competent but rather compliant individuals to managerial positions in companies, which damages both the reputation and profitability of the enterprises.

Professor Đonlagić told reporters yesterday during the adoption of the budget revision in the federal parliament building that the policy of Dragan Čović and the HDZ BiH from the very beginning of the functioning of the new government in BiH was based on political parties continuing to manage public companies in the country, and it has now been shown that he succeeded in those intentions, writes Patria.
