The public kitchen for socially endangered citizens in Visoko starts operating on Friday, at Kovačica 2/2 street, and 200 residents of this city will receive one daily meal there.
From the Association "Young Volunteers", which founded this public kitchen, they told the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) that the number of socially endangered people in Visoko is higher than 200, but the association is currently only able to provide one daily meal for those recommended by the local Center for Social Work.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, there is an increasing number of public kitchen users who are unable to provide themselves with even one quality meal a day. According to data from international and domestic organizations, half of the population in BiH lives in the poverty zone, while 18 percent of citizens are below the critical poverty line.
The operation of the public kitchen in Visoko will require the support of the entire community, especially citizens, who can support its work by donating food to this kitchen, writes Patria.
