Was Janša's 'non-paper' a way for Trump to discredit the EU?

Slovenian journalist Vanja Varđan stated on the show Crvena linija that the "non-paper", or its outlines, originated when Trump was president, and that the goal of this document is "to discredit the EU".

As far as it is talked about in Slovenia, the "non-paper" is not a document written by Janša, but, at least as it is said, he is the most suitable courier to test whether this trial balloon will pass or not. Orban and Vučić could not do it. Orban does not have such a reputation within the EU, and Serbian President Vučić has no possibility to propose something like that at all. So, at least as it is said, Janša, as the Prime Minister of Slovenia which is taking over the presidency of the EU, was the best courier to try it out, Varđan stated.

According to his findings, the document originated during last year.

"As far as I managed to find out from the people who discovered this 'non-paper', it, or at least its outlines, originated last year while the President of America was Donald Trump," said Varđan.

He assessed that the rhetoric of Slovenian Prime Minister Janša is also very close to the rhetoric used by US President Donald Trump. He also believes that the goal of this document is to discredit the European Union and Slovenia with Janša as Prime Minister.
