Strong wind causing snowdrifts on sections in western parts of BiH

Strong wind is causing snowdrifts this morning on sections in the western parts of our country. We highlight the following routes: Kupres-Šuica, Glamoč-Mrkonjić Grad,  Livno-Drvar and Bosansko Grahovo-Strmica.

There is packed snow on the road in places on the sections: Bihać-Cazin-Velika Kladuša, Srbljani-Bosanska Krupa and Bihać-Bosanski Petrovac.

Due to snowdrifts, traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 3.5 tons on the regional road R-419 Rakitno-Blidinje. Fog reduces visibility on sections in valleys, along river flows, as well as on mountain passes. We highlight the following routes: Sarajevo-Olovo, Novi Travnik- Bugojno, Tuzla –Bijeljina, Doboj-Tuzla-Kalesija and Srebrenik-Orašje.

On the main roads M-14 Srbljani-Bosanska Krupa and M-18 Dobro Polje-Brod na Drini, there is a danger of avalanches.

On other sections, the road surface is mostly wet. Due to low temperatures, ice is possible, especially in mountainous areas, on bridges, viaducts, and tunnel approaches. We also warn drivers about frequent landslides of earth or stones onto the road, according to BIHAMK.

We appeal for maximum cautious driving and remind you that winter equipment is legally mandatory.

On the A-1 highway section Sarajevo west-Lepenica, due to an active landslide at the Ban Brdo location, traffic is redirected from the driving lane to the passing lane in the right tube of the Igman tunnel, as well as at the construction site. We ask drivers to drive at reduced speed on this highway section.

Due to activated landslides, the traffic regime has been changed on the main road M-16 Banja Luka-Crna Rijeka (at the Gornji Šeher location), as well as on regional roads R-441 Banja Luka-Turbe (Ljubačevo) and R-454a Bratunac-Drinjača.

Due to winter driving conditions in Croatia, traffic for trucks over 7.5 tons is suspended at the Izačić and Velika Kladuša border crossings.
