Horseback riding a new attraction in Old Town

In Sedrenik, in the immediate vicinity of Primary School "Sedrenik" (branch of Primary School “Mula Mustafa Bašeskija”), only a five-minute drive from Baščaršija, is the Equestrian Club “Hidalgo”. A unique horseback riding experience at this club can be enjoyed by those with riding experience, as well as beginners, and even children. Thanks to the many years of experience in working with horses by Suad Vražalica, the Equestrian Club “Hidalgo”, which has been owned by the Potogija family for many years, is now in a new guise and operating successfully. With Vražalica, who lived and worked in France for 40 years, the club has visibly progressed, and as Muhamed Potogija himself says, this is just the beginning.

Without satisfied horses, there are no satisfied riders

The PR manager of the club “Hidalgo”, Vedran Hasanagić, says that “Hidalgo” is open to all lovers of this sport.

- A new riding arena measuring 60x40 meters has been built, and it is currently the largest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The club has also been enriched with a new round paddock for training beginner riders and horses. For the comfort of the horses, we have renovated and renewed the stable and boxes, because without satisfied horses, there are no satisfied riders - explained Hasanagić.

The club has 14 top-quality horses, of which 10 are trained and used for daily training.

He emphasized that the horses are prepared for riders of all ages, and that the lessons are conducted by certified instructors. He said they decided on this business because there are few sports with animals, and such clubs are rare.

- We want children to get closer to horses and animals in general, as well as nature - Hasanagić explained.

A true enthusiast of equestrian sport

Suad Vražalica, who is a true enthusiast of equestrian sport, said that the offer is diverse.

- Besides training in the arena, we also have outdoor riding. For people who already have riding experience and for advanced students of the riding school, we also organize group riding tours in nature, and we most often go to Čavljak - points out Vražalica. He reminded that equestrian sport has no age limit and that it is the only sport in which men and women compete equally.
