Car and female body pulled from the Rzav river canyon after accident near Višegrad

(Patria) - Members of the Republic Administration of Civil Protection located the car and completed the operation to extract the body of a female person, who died when the vehicle plunged into the Rzav canyon, on the Višegrad – Vardište road. According to team leader Nenad Ikonić, with the help of a special crane from Goražde, the wrecked car was also pulled out.

- By order of director Boris Trninić, a team of five rescuers was engaged. We managed to locate the car and extract the body of the deceased person. This is a rather inaccessible part of the Rzav riverbed, as the canyon at this point is 30 to 50 meters deep. With the help of a crane from Goražde, the car was also pulled out – said Ikonić.

In the car plunge, 38-year-old A. P. from Uvac died.

This is the second traffic accident at the same location in the last few days. In the first accident, two female passengers also died.

Due to the traffic accident, traffic on the Dobrun-Vardište main road has been suspended.
