Executive directors 'worth' almost a trillion dollars accompany Trump on his trip to China

(Patria) - President Donald Trump arrived in China accompanied by a delegation of American billionaires, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, as the two powers negotiate trade, artificial intelligence, and the war with Iran, CBS News reports.

The executive directors, whose total net worth approaches a trillion dollars, lead companies with significant business interests in China, despite years of trade disputes between the world's two largest economies.

Musk, whose wealth is around 688 billion dollars, is the richest person in the world, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Huang, whose net worth is approximately 183 billion dollars, is also part of the American delegation, according to a list provided by the White House to CBS News.

Musk and others confirmed their attendance, the Associated Press reported, citing a White House official who was not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

Musk traveled with Trump on Air Force One, along with Huang from Nvidia. Film director Brett Ratner, who directed the documentary "Melania," was also on the flight.

Among the American business leaders traveling to Beijing are Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, with a net worth of 47.5 billion dollars, and Apple CEO Tim Cook, whose wealth is 2.9 billion dollars.

Other executives are also expected to attend, including Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, and Meta President and Vice President Dina Powell McCormick, according to the Associated Press.

Nvidia produces chips that help fuel the artificial intelligence boom, and Huang and other executives see the trip as an opportunity to strengthen ties in the Chinese market.

Trump confirmed in a social media post late Tuesday that Huang had joined him on Air Force One, highlighting the business leaders traveling with him to China.

Trump provided a list of executive directors who are "traveling with him to the Great Country of China."

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon, Apple CEO Tim Cook, GE Aerospace CEO Larry Culp, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Micron Technology CEO Sanjay Mehrotra, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, Blackstone CEO Stephen Schwarzman, Cargill CEO Brian Sikes, and Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon.

In the same post, Trump said he plans to ask Chinese President Xi Jinping to "open up" China so that these brilliant people can do their magic and help lift the People's Republic to an even higher level!"
