RS exports to the US fell by 159 million KM

In recent years, the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska has spent tens of millions of dollars on lobbying in the United States, while during the same period, according to official data, exports from RS to the US fell by as much as 159 million convertible marks, imports increased by 27.5 million KM, and investments were almost negligible, amounting to only a thousand KM in 2015, for example.

The portal Capital.ba reported that the economic results of multi-million dollar lobbying and the work of the RS Representative Office in the USA, opened in 2013, are best seen through data from the RS Institute of Statistics, according to which there has been a steep decline in exports from RS to the US in the last ten years, while imports of goods and services from the US to RS have doubled.

Thus, in 2006, exports from RS to the US amounted to 171.4 million KM, falling sharply to just 11.5 million KM in 2009. Since then, there have been no significant changes, and at the end of 2015, exports amounted to only 12.5 million KM, reports Patria.

At the same time, imports from the US to RS in 2006 amounted to 19.7 million KM, reaching 47.2 million convertible marks by the end of 2015.

The situation with investments is no better. Foreign investments in RS have been declining for years, and in 2015, only 1,000 KM arrived in RS from the US. From 2007 to 2015, 10.3 million KM of investments arrived in RS from the US, reports NAP.
