According to data from the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH and analyses by the USAID/Sweden FARMA II Project, the export of essential oils from BiH has been continuously growing in recent years (from 1.2 million KM in 2011 to 3.2 million in 2015). Helichrysum oil has the largest share in this amount.
The cultivation of helichrysum has taken over dominance compared to the harvesting of wild helichrysum, and it is estimated that the areas under helichrysum today exceed 1,000 hectares, writes NAP.
