Report for 2014: 145,000 unprocessed cases in Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office

In the continuation of the fourth session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, the deputies today adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Sarajevo Canton, which aligns this regulation with international conventions in this field, and the public debate on this Draft will last for 60 days, reports the Patria News Agency.

The Draft of "Phase B" of the amendments to the Spatial Plan of Sarajevo Canton for the period from 2003 to 2023 was also adopted. The Spatial Plan of Sarajevo Canton was adopted in 2006, and in 2010, a Decision on initiating amendments to this plan in two phases - A and B - was made.

After the amendments to "Phase A" were adopted in 2011, the Draft of "Phase B" amendments was adopted today and sent for a public debate lasting 60 days.

Deputies in the Canton Assembly accepted the Report on the Work and Financial Operations of the Public Institution "Sarajevo Pharmacies" and took note of the report on the work and financial operations of the Faculty of Dentistry in Sarajevo with its clinics.

The work programs and financial plans for 2015 of the public institutions General Hospital "Prim.dr Abdulah Nakaš", Sarajevo Pharmacies, Institute of Emergency Medical Aid, Faculty of Dentistry with its clinics were also adopted, while the work program of the Institute for Combating Addiction was withdrawn from the agenda.

Deputies supported the Work Program and Financial Plan of the Sarajevo Canton Fund for the Construction and Preservation of Martyrs' and Fallen Fighters' Graves, Memorial Centers, and Memorials to Victims of Genocide for 2015, the Work Program with the Financial Plan of the Sarajevo Canton Fund for Scholarships and Education of Children of Fighters, Fallen Fighters, and Fallen Civilians - Victims of War "IKRE" for 2015, as well as the report on the work and financial operations of the Sarajevo Canton Housing Fund for 2014, the Sarajevo Canton Fund for Housing Construction for Members of Martyrs' and Fallen Fighters' Families, Disabled War Veterans, Demobilized Fighters, and Displaced Persons for 2014, and the Report on the Work and Financial Operations of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas for 2014.

The Report on the Work of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office for 2014 did not receive a single vote of support in the Canton Assembly. The Prosecutor's Office, which ended the past year with 145,000 unprocessed cases, has not fulfilled its task of combating all forms of crime, especially economic crime, according to the deputies of the cantonal assembly, who also expressed their expectations for better and faster work by the Prosecutor's Office in this year of 2015, it was announced from the KS Assembly.
