150 victims, more than 200 journalists, 50 state representatives to attend Karadžić verdict

Due to great public interest in attending the pronouncement of the Trial Chamber's verdict for Radovan Karadžić, scheduled for 24 March, all available space in the International Court building and its surroundings is now completely filled, the Tribunal announced, as reported by the Patria news agency.

After the accreditation process was completed, the International Court registered requests for attendance from more than 150 victims, over 200 journalists, more than 50 representatives of states and members of the diplomatic corps, and over 100 representatives of the academic community, researchers and representatives of civil society organisations.

In order to accommodate as many visitors as possible, the International Court is using all available space in its own building, as well as additional space in the nearby World Forum conference centre. The entire area around the International Court building will be blocked on the day of the verdict, and access will be controlled by the Dutch police.

The International Court does not have the capacity to receive additional visitors and informs the public that only individuals already registered by the International Court through the accreditation process will be allowed access to the ICTY building and/or the area in its vicinity, the statement reads.
