Israeli soldiers spotted suspicious house in Rafah, entered and were severely injured

(Patria) - Four Israeli soldiers were killed and seven were injured in an explosion in the Gaza Strip.

Tal Pshebilski Shaulov (24), Eitan Karlsbrun (20), Almog Shalom (19), and Yair Levin (19) were killed.



Their deaths bring the number of Israeli soldiers killed during the ground offensive to 300.

All four served in the reconnaissance unit of the Givati Brigade. Shaulov was superior to his comrades. Incidentally, Levin is the grandson of former Likud MK Moshe Feiglin.

According to an initial investigation by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the soldiers threw an explosive device into a suspicious building in the Shaboura neighborhood of Rafah.

They intended to activate any potential traps. After no explosion occurred, they decided to enter the house.

When two soldiers entered the three-story building, an explosion occurred and the structure collapsed.

Rescue services managed to save one soldier from the rubble. Of the seven injured soldiers, five have severe physical injuries, writes The Times of Israel, as reported by Index.

The IDF noted that they later found a tunnel shaft inside the house, indicating that the building likely belonged to a Hamas operative.
