(Patria) - Three hundred and fifty Israeli writers have called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a letter to stop the war in the Gaza Strip and bring home the remaining 59 hostages.
Among the signatories of the letter are well-known writers such as David Grossman, Yehoshua Sobol, and Zeruya Shalev, the Times of Israel reported yesterday.
"This war endangers the lives of Israeli soldiers, hostages, and causes terrible suffering to helpless civilians in Gaza.
The actions in Gaza and the occupied territories were not done in our name, but will be at our expense," the letter states.
The signatories of the letter call for an immediate cessation of military operations against the Palestinian Hamas, the return of hostages taken to the Gaza Strip, and an international agreement on the future of Gaza.
They also accused Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu of continuing the war for personal reasons.
