Israeli Minister: We are approaching a "moment of all-out war" against Hezbollah and Lebanon

(Patria) - Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said that Israel is approaching an all-out war against Hezbollah and Lebanon after eleven people were killed yesterday in a rocket attack on a football field in the village of Majdal Shams in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

- Hezbollah's attack has crossed all red lines, and the response will be in accordance with that. We are approaching a moment of all-out war against Hezbollah and Lebanon - Katz told Axios.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Hezbollah will pay a high price.

- Hezbollah will pay a high price, one it has not paid before - Netanyahu told a leader of the Druze community in Israel in a phone call, according to a statement from his office, agencies reported.

The Israeli military announced that it will "prepare a response" against Hezbollah.

- We will prepare for a response against Hezbollah... we will act - military spokesperson Daniel Hagari told reporters.

He added that Saturday's rocket fire was "the deadliest attack on Israeli civilians since October 7" when Hamas militants attacked Israel, triggering the war in Gaza.

The Lebanese government condemned "all acts of violence and aggression against civilians" after Israeli authorities reported ten killed in the annexed Golan Heights in a rocket attack they blamed on Hezbollah.

"Targeting civilians is a flagrant violation of international law and contrary to the principles of humanity," the government statement said, calling for "an immediate cessation of hostilities" after months of cross-border exchanges of fire between Hezbollah and Israeli forces.

Hezbollah distanced itself from the attack, saying it had nothing to do with it.

- We are not responsible for the rocket fire on Majdal Shams. The fighters of the Islamic Resistance have nothing to do with this shelling - the statement said.
