Israeli Minister Who Said Dropping Atomic Bomb on Gaza is an Option, Suspended Indefinitely

(Patria) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attempted to distance himself on social media from comments made by a minister in his government that dropping an atomic bomb on Gaza is "one of the possibilities" and that the Palestinian population can "go to Ireland or the desert." Israeli media later reported that Eliyahu has been suspended indefinitely.

The Times of Israel published statements from Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu, who said in an interview that the Palestinian people “can go to Ireland or the deserts, the monsters in Gaza need to find their own solution,” adding that those waving Palestinian or Hamas flags “should not continue to exist on the face of the earth.”

The minister also said that dropping an atomic bomb on the Gaza Strip is “one of the possibilities,” and that humanitarian aid to the population should be limited.

“We would not give humanitarian aid to the Nazis. There are no innocent civilians in Gaza,” the minister said.

“Minister Amihai Eliyahu’s statements are not based on reality. Israel and the IDF operate according to the highest standards of international law to avoid harming innocents. We will continue to do so until our victory,” Netanyahu announced.

Humanitarian groups, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, Amnesty International, and Human Rights Watch, are warning of war crimes in Gaza. In Gaza, 40 percent of those killed are children, the UN reported. Since October 7, 10,000 people have been killed.
