Israeli army kills eight-member family in central Gaza

(Patria) - An eight-member family was killed in an Israeli attack on the central Gaza Strip, Palestinian medical officials announced yesterday.

A house in the Nuseirat refugee camp was hit in an attack on Gaza late on Saturday, and the parents and their six children, aged eight to 23, were killed, Al-Aqsa Hospital in nearby Deir al-Balah, where the bodies were taken, announced.

In northern Gaza, Israeli air and ground forces attacked Jabalia, where militants, according to the army, had regrouped.

A year after the war with Hamas, Israel continues to carry out attacks in the Gaza Strip almost every day. The army says it is trying to avoid civilian deaths and blames Hamas and other armed groups for their deaths because they operate in densely populated areas.

Israel has ordered a complete evacuation of northern Gaza. It is estimated that 400,000 people remained in the north after the initial evacuation ordered in the first weeks of the war.

Palestinians fear that Israel intends to permanently depopulate the north to establish military bases or Jewish settlements. The UN says no food has entered northern Gaza since October 1.
