Israeli Army Claims: Over 20 Iranian Commanders Killed

(Patria) - The Israeli army (IDF) announced in its latest statement that over 20 commanders within the Iranian security apparatus were killed during airstrikes on Iranian territory.

According to IDF data, Israeli fighter jets eliminated, among others, Gholam-Reza Marhabi, head of the Intelligence Directorate in the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces.

They also eliminated General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, commander of the ballistic missile system of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

"Since the beginning of the operation, more than 20 commanders of the Iranian regime have been eliminated," the IDF statement reads.

Marhabi, according to Israeli sources, was responsible for security situation assessments at the level of the entire Iranian Armed Forces and was considered the highest-ranking Iranian intelligence officer.

"Marhabi played a key role in intelligence analysis, operational planning, and preparations for conflicts with Israel over the past year and earlier," the Israeli report states.

General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, commander of Iran's surface-to-surface missile system, was responsible for most of Iran's long-range ballistic and cruise missile capabilities.

"These capabilities represent the regime's main offensive weapons against the State of Israel. Bagheri managed Iran's missile systems and played an active role in the decision-making that preceded Iran's attacks on Israel in April and October 2024," the IDF states.

This information comes amid escalating Israeli-Iranian tensions and increasingly intense attacks by both sides on the opponent's military and strategic targets.
