Israel prepares to attack Iran, awaiting support from America and allies

(Patria) - The Israeli army is preparing for a large-scale military response against Iran after Tehran launched a massive missile attack earlier this week in response to the killing of Hezbollah and Hamas leaders.

Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reports that the Israeli army is preparing a "large and severe retaliation" against Iran.

"The army is planning a significant response to the Iranian missile attack, which, although it did not cause significant damage, cannot go unanswered. The army is preparing for a fierce strike," KAN reports.

The report also states that Israel expects support from other countries in a coalition against Iran, as well as continued international coordination.

It is added that Israeli allies, including the US, see Iran as a common threat.

Accordingly, the commander of the US Central Command, General Michael Kurilla, is expected to visit Israel this week to discuss joint strategies.

The Israeli newspaper "Haaretz" also reports that Israel is planning an extensive military campaign against Iran, while also preparing for possible new missile attacks from Tehran in response to the expected Israeli retaliation.

The same newspaper reports that Israel is simultaneously preparing an action against Iran, but also intensifying attacks on Gaza.

The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" also reports that European officials met with Israeli defense officials in Tel Aviv to coordinate a military response against Iran.

Iran launched at least 180 missiles on Tuesday in retaliation for the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Israel targeted Nasrallah and other Hezbollah commanders in an airstrike on the southern suburb of Beirut on September 27. Haniyeh was killed in an attack on his residence during a visit to Tehran at the end of July.
