(Patria) – Israel is approaching new elections, the fourth in just two years, after parliament adopted a proposal for dissolution, amid a political and health crisis that Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition government is struggling to cope with.
The opposition's proposal for early elections, also supported by Netanyahu's main coalition partner, Defense Minister Benny Gantz, still needs to pass a parliamentary vote to become law.
Netanyahu and Gantz are still arguing over the national budget.
This is just one of the issues causing disagreement between Netanyahu and Gantz, long-time rivals who were forced into a coalition to avoid elections at the time and form a government.
