(Patria) - Iranian semi-official media Tasnim and Mehr have reported that Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is alive and "firmly and decisively managing the situation," denying earlier claims about his death.
According to these reports, Khamenei is "steadfast and firm in commanding on the ground," directly challenging information previously published by Reuters and Israeli media.
We remind you that Reuters, citing Israeli officials, reported that Khamenei died after an attack on his palace. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also announced that there are "signs" that Khamenei is dead, and subsequently similar news spread through American media.
However, Iranian authorities insist that the Supreme Leader is alive, and have previously accused Israel and the United States of waging "psychological warfare" by spreading disinformation.
For now, there is no independent confirmation of Ayatollah Khamenei's fate, while contradictory reports further increase uncertainty at a time of escalating conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States.
