(Patria) - The Israeli army has received another coffin with the remains of an Israeli hostage who died in captivity in the Gaza Strip, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced.
"Israel, through the Red Cross, received the coffin of the fallen hostage, which was handed over to the IDF and ISA forces within the Gaza Strip. From there, it will be transferred to Israel.
It will then be transferred to the National Center for Forensic Medicine of the Ministry of Health. After the identification process is completed, an official notification will be delivered to the family," TASS reported.
Israel and Hamas resumed indirect negotiations on resolving the situation in the Gaza Strip on October 6, with mediation from Egypt, Qatar, the United States, and Turkey.
The parties to the conflict signed an agreement on October 9 to implement the first phase of US President Donald Trump's ceasefire plan in Gaza. The ceasefire came into effect on October 10.
Hamas and other Palestinian groups released all twenty living hostages on October 13 and handed over the bodies of four deceased hostages in accordance with the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
So far, Hamas has returned the remains of 22 deceased hostages, and still holds six more bodies.
