The Iranian semi-official Fars news agency reported that Israel attacked military bases west and southwest of Tehran. The same source also stated that some of the explosions were caused by the air defense system, and that most of the videos on social media are older and have no connection to tonight's events.
At the same time, explosions were heard in Syria, in Homs and in the vicinity of Damascus.
White House National Security Council spokesperson Sean Savett stated that Israel is carrying out attacks on military targets in Iran.
