(Patria) - Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated tonight that there is a possibility of a new campaign against Iran, according to a statement from his office.
His statement followed a situation assessment with several senior Israeli military officials, including the Chief of the General Staff.
Katz emphasized that Israel must maintain the air superiority achieved in Operation "Rise of the Lion".
He stressed the need to formulate an effective plan to strengthen its capabilities for the future in order to ensure that Iran does not resume the development of its nuclear program.
He also confirmed that the main goal of the IDF in the current war with Hamas is the return of hostages and the defeat of this Palestinian militant organization.
