Israel launches new attacks on Iran, Netanyahu claims control over Tehran's airspace

(Patria) - Israel today launched a new series of attacks on central Iran, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims to have full control over the airspace above Tehran.

"The Israeli Air Force has full control over the skies of Tehran," Netanyahu said in statements at the Tel Nof airbase in Rehovot, central Israel.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that the military is striking dozens of targets in central Iran, without providing details.

Fighter jets hit a truck exhibition in the Dizel Abad settlement in Kermanshah, western Iran, the semi-official Fars news agency reported.

Sounds of explosions were heard in the area, and reports indicate that at least one person was injured.

Another attack was carried out on the Farabi hospital in the same city, the Tasnim news agency reported, without providing details on damage or casualties.

Spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmaeil Baqaei, condemned the attack on the hospital as a "serious violation of international law and a war crime."

Regional tensions have escalated since Friday, when Israel launched coordinated airstrikes on multiple locations across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks.

Israeli authorities said that at least 24 people have been killed and hundreds wounded in Iranian missile attacks since Friday.


Iran, for its part, said that at least 224 people have been killed and more than 1,000 wounded in Israeli attacks.
