(Patria) - The Israeli army announced that the ceasefire with Hamas will continue "in light of the mediators' efforts to continue the process of releasing hostages and in accordance with the terms of the agreement."
Also, the other side, namely Hamas, agreed to extend the ceasefire beyond the seventh day from the entry into force of the agreement reached about ten days ago.
Incidentally, until the last hour, the prospect of extending the ceasefire was uncertain, after the two sides failed to agree on a new list of Israelis to be released from Gaza.
In addition, there were certain claims by political officials in Israel and Western countries that the ceasefire could end and fighting resume.
As already known, the six-day pause in fighting in Gaza was supposed to end on Thursday at seven in the morning local time (five in the morning GMT).
