Israel bombed Gaza, large number killed including children

(Patria) - The Israeli army early this morning hit targets in Gaza, breaking the ceasefire that stopped the fighting in January, and the Palestinian Ministry of Health states at least 320 dead.

Attacks were recorded in several locations, including northern Gaza and the cities of Gaza, Deir al-Balah, and Khan Younis and Rafah in the central and southern Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas, states that many of the victims are children.

The Israeli army stated that the attacks will last as long as necessary and will expand beyond air strikes.

One of the Hamas leaders said that "new Israeli air strikes on Gaza represent a 'death sentence for the remaining Israeli hostages".

"Netanyahu's (Benjamin Netanyahu, ed.) decision to return to war is a decision to sacrifice the occupation's prisoners and a death sentence for them," said Ezat al-Rishq, a Hamas leader and member of the political bureau of the Palestinian group.

He added, "the enemy will not achieve through war what it failed to achieve through negotiations".

The ceasefire break followed tense negotiations that lasted for weeks, bringing new suffering to the residents of the Gaza Strip, after Israel cut off electricity supply and blocked humanitarian aid.

Civil defense in Gaza announced that a large number of people are "trapped under the rubble of homes that were bombed in various areas".
