Israel dropped 40,000 tons of explosives on Gaza Strip since October 7

(Patria) - The Media Office in Gaza announced today that the Israeli army has dropped 40,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip since October 7, with the apparent aim of making the enclave uninhabitable.

Salama Maarouf, head of the Media Office, issued a statement on Telegram on the third day of the temporary humanitarian pause between Israel and Hamas, which came into effect on Friday morning.

"Israeli occupation forces have dropped 40,000 tons of explosives on the strip (since October 7), and the crimes of the occupation (forces, editor's note) have taken place far from the cameras," said Marouf.

He explained that "the bombs used by the occupation (forces) recently have never been used before, and hundreds of martyrs have been buried where they died".

"The devastation carried out by the occupation reflects its intention to make Gaza uninhabitable," Maarouf stated.

He also commented on the temporary pause in fighting, emphasizing that "the days of respite have exposed the magnitude of the significant massacre, which has resulted in considerable destruction of infrastructure".

"One third of the population of the Gaza Strip has yet to receive basic supplies, and a lack of all international institutions is evident," Marouf stated, calling on the international community to act.
