Plane and flock of pigeons collide above Sarajevo Airport, witnesses thought the plane was falling

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – An unusual situation occurred today above Sarajevo International Airport.

Just before landing, a plane collided with a flock of pigeons. Feathers covered the sky above the runway, and the unfortunate pigeons ended up on the ground.

A man who introduced himself as the owner of the pigeons, recognizing them by the rings on their legs, called the officials of Sarajevo Airport to allow him to collect the dead birds, but they told him that was impossible and that his entry onto the airport in such a manner would be considered an illegal border crossing, reports the Patria agency.

Witnesses who heard the collision say the impact was very strong and that they thought the plane was falling.
