SARAJEVO, (Patria) - With the exhibition 'Caught' by artist Šejla Kamerić, the USAOJ House in Bihać is reopening its doors after a long time.
The installation is a kind of pop-up intervention featuring 14 large-scale black and white crocheted works, with which the artist establishes a dialogue with the immediate spatial environment, its logic and laws, within which neglected and emptied places become arenas for creation, collaboration, and participation.
'Caught' is a silent commentary with an included historical perspective, an allusion to the morbid present, and fear for the extremely uncertain future of the buildings on which the work relies. At the same time, the work also addresses the conservative world of men through questions about the position of women as the main protagonists in designing and executing the milieu in numerous households.
The exhibition will be held at the USAOJ House in Bihać on May 21, 2021, from 12 PM to 8 PM.
After that, at the Željezara Hall in Zenica on June 5, 2021, from 12 PM to 8 PM, and at the Mirza Delibašić Hall in Sarajevo on August 11, 2021, from 12 PM to 8 PM.
