Exhibition "Landscape under Igman" through the prism of three generations of Hrasnica

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The exhibition "Landscape under Igman" will be opened on Tuesday, October 8, at 6 PM at the Public Institution for Culture, Sports and Recreation Hrasnica. The exhibition is part of the October Days of Culture of JU KSP Hrasnica with the support of the Municipality of Ilidža and the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The art exhibition includes three authors, three generations of the Hrasnica family: Prof. Dr. Fahrudinbeg Hrasnica, Prof. Dr. Mehmedbeg Hrasnica, and Alma Hrasnica Dervišević, academic graphic designer.

Through the prism of three artists, the "Landscape under Igman" painted with a brush encompasses the diverse values of the area of the Municipality of Ilidža and Hrasnica, from the cultural, natural, historical, and architectural heritage of the region.

"Landscape under Igman" encompasses the area of the Municipality of Ilidža, at the foot of Igman, with the aim of affirming its spatial values and the people who lived in that area, through an art exhibition that includes: painting and a document of a time, love for horses, applied art.

"As the author of the exhibition, its participant, and a member of the Hrasnica family, it is a great honor for me to shape the biographies of my late grandfather and father, versatile personalities who have contributed so much to Bosnian-Herzegovinian culture and science, the preservation of the Bosnian horse, and the promotion of sports, and to present them under the umbrella of the art exhibition 'Landscape under Igman'. It is also a challenge, because whenever I opened the pages of brochures, books, newspaper articles, or peeked into desk drawers, searching for adequate information about them, new doors to their work and contribution to our society opened up. I had to make a selection and decided to depict their personalities through their love for painting and horses. The paintings I have chosen for this exhibition are mostly watercolors, an artistic technique chosen by a confident, creative hand. They painted old Bosnian-Herzegovinian markets and villages, Croatian islands. They painted landscapes and old architecture wherever they stayed, absorbing the beauty of adobe houses and their balconies, as well as stone houses along the sea coast, bathed in sun, haystacks, equally recognizing the beauty in the branched crowns of trees. They painted their native Hrasnica, Stojčevac, Vrelo Bosne," explains Hrasnica-Dervišević.

This academic graphic designer has designed educational posters that depict the area of Ilidža and the natural monument "Vrelo Bosne". The posters are a segment of the project by the association "Green Art", edition "LIST, protected natural areas of FBiH".
