Construction of Block 7 of TPP Tuzla to be financed by Chinese bank with over 667 million euros

At today's session, the Government of the FBiH gave consent for the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Export-Import Bank of China and the Government of the FBiH on financing the Project for the construction of Block 7-450 MW of TPP Tuzla, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The purpose of the Memorandum is to secure support from the Chinese government for financing the Project under more favorable conditions in the amount of 667,802,500 euros.

- The construction of Block 7-450 MW of the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant has been declared a project of public interest. Since it is included in the public investment program of BiH, which is adopted by the Government of the Federation of BiH, and consequently in the public investment program of BiH, which is adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH, it is indisputable that this is a strategic infrastructure project not only for the FBiH but also for the state of BiH. Given that the existing blocks of TPP Tuzla, due to their dilapidation and failure to meet current European standards, must be replaced, the planned construction of Block 7 of TPP Tuzla will ensure long-term electricity supply, as well as compliance with European directives and standards in this area.

The Government of the FBiH authorized the federal Minister of Finance to sign the Memorandum.
