Construction of state prison proceeding as planned, capacity of 348 places

Minister of Justice of BiH Josip Grubeša and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to BiH Juan Bosco Gimenez Soriano visited today the construction site of the future Institute for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions of BiH, at the Naklo location in East Sarajevo, in order to express their full support for the intensification of works and the successful realization of this important state project, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Expressing satisfaction that he had the opportunity to see on the spot that all works are being carried out at full capacity and that the construction of this high-security facility is proceeding at the planned pace, the Minister of Justice of BiH expressed his expectations that the entire project will be realized in accordance with the planned deadlines. Favorable weather conditions are being used to the maximum to further accelerate the pace of construction, and works are currently being carried out on all ten buildings of the prison complex, as well as on completing the external landscaping and access roads.

The construction and functioning of the future state prison is fully aligned with European prison rules. With the realization of the planned project, Bosnia and Herzegovina will obtain maximum security prison capacities, with a capacity of 348 places.

The works on the construction of the state prison are being carried out by the Czech-Spanish consortium OHL ŽS.
