Izetbegović, Zvizdić, Dodik, Cvijanović: Srebrenica needs investments, this is a rich area

BiH Presidency member Bakir Izetbegović said today at the Investment Conference in Srebrenica that he wants life to return to Srebrenica, and that young people can be seen on the streets of Srebrenica again, but that this is only possible if investments are made in the economic resources of this region, which has all the prerequisites to become developed.

An Investment and Development Conference has been opened in Srebrenica, which will last for two days.

The conference is conceived as a place where the economic potentials of Srebrenica will be presented to dozens of businessmen from the country and the region, as well as leading politicians from BiH and the region, the development of which would facilitate life in this small municipality in eastern BiH, where one of the greatest genocides in Europe after World War II was committed against Bosniaks 20 years ago.

BiH Prime Minister Denis Zvizdić said that Srebrenica is in the focus of BiH's interest, and that BiH has an interest in Srebrenica developing and becoming a new place of reconciliation and respect.

- Srebrenica is truly something special, not only for BiH but also for the region, because it is a symbol of great suffering, a message that it should never happen again, and a message that we must build togetherness – said Zvizdić.

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, also addressed the conference in Srebrenica. He said that the Government of Republika Srpska plans to invest around 3 million KM in Srebrenica, which should help attract new investments to this municipality.

- We cannot build factories, but we can help investors. The Government of Republika Srpska will support every form of development in Srebrenica, because we do not separate Srebrenica from the rest of Republika Srpska – said Dodik.

Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, said that only new investments in Srebrenica can make this place safer and better to live in.

- The Government of Republika Srpska has invested more than 50 million KM in Srebrenica so far; in Republika Srpska, it is now possible to register a company for less than one hundred euros and in three days – said Cvijanović.

The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska invited investors to invest in Srebrenica, as well as in other cities in Republika Srpska.
