Izetbegović takes credit for Zubac's prosecution, claims politics behind accusations!

We will probably send Goran Zubac to prison, said Bakir Izetbegović, candidate of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) for member of the BiH Presidency, last night at a rally in the Municipality of Novi Grad in Sarajevo, as reported by the media.

Izetbegović did not specify who he meant by "we", but given that he is a politician and it was a political rally, this statement could seriously harm the position of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthen the defense's position in the trial of the Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Namely, from the very beginning of the proceedings against Zubac, who is accused of abuse of office, his defense, as well as Serb officials, have claimed that this is a politically motivated process and that Zubac is not guilty.

This statement by Izetbegović, in which he practically admits that he, as a member of the BiH Presidency, stands behind the accusations against Zubac, only supports those who are defending Zubac. Moreover, according to information close to the defense of the SIPA director, this statement could be the basis for the defense and claims that politics, not the law, is behind everything.

Thus, instead of sending Zubac to prison, as he claims, Izetbegović might, with his statement, get him out of it!

The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Zubac based on violations of the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and not on the basis of a decision by a political party, government, the BiH Presidency, or a politician. A few days ago, Zubac pleaded not guilty before the Court of BiH for abuse of office when he refused to prevent the burning of the BiH Presidency building, reports NAP.
