
(Patria) - The President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović met today with the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in BiH John Ginkel.
The current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region was discussed.
Izetbegović emphasized the importance of strengthening the rule of law and consistent respect for the decisions of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to ensure the functioning of the state in accordance with the Constitution and laws.
Special attention was paid to strengthening economic cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States, with a focus on American investments and improving the technological capacities of the domestic economy.
The possibilities for expanding cooperation in the fields of energy and the defense industry were also discussed, as well as the need to accelerate the implementation of strategic projects that will ensure long-term economic stability.
In this context, the importance of the Southern Gas Interconnection project was highlighted as key to the energy security and independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for diversifying supply and reducing costs for citizens and the economy.
Izetbegović thanked the United States for its continuous and strong support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and reform processes.
