Izetbegović Lays Foundation Stone for Investment Worth 20 Million KM

The laying of the foundation stone today in the Visoko settlement of Gornja Zimča marked the beginning of one of the largest construction investments in the recent history of this municipality, worth around 20 million KM, reports BH news agency Patria.

It concerns the “Residential-Business-Recreational Center Visoko”, whose construction is being invested in by the company „Abras Company“ from Bahrain. The project will, over the next three years, which will be needed to build this complex, create a hundred new jobs, but also afterwards, it will bring the municipality hundreds of thousands of marks in annual revenue.

Ahmed Alabras, director and owner of the company „Abras Company“, said today in Visoko that this complex does not only represent buildings, pools, sports fields and promenades, but much more than that.

- I have transferred part of my business to this country, specifically to the city of Visoko. That my decision was serious is confirmed by the foundation stone laid today, on whose site a large center will be built in three years – Alabras stated.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the company „Abras Company“, a high-ranking delegation from Bahrain, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović, and the Mayor of Visoko Amra Babić.

Izetbegović said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is currently in one of the most challenging phases because the country has been hit by a natural disaster of catastrophic proportions. Floods and landslides have left thousands of citizens without homes, jobs and agricultural farms.

- I take this opportunity to invite the friends who are with us today to encourage their governments to participate in the donor conference we will soon organize. Any help in repairing the damage and eliminating the consequences is more than welcome - said Izetbegović.

The Mayor of Visoko Municipality Amra Babić reminded that Visoko, with this project, besides Ilidža, Hadžići, Ilijaš and Novi Grad, has become another BH municipality where holiday settlements will be built, as well as new capacities for the development of tourism, crafts, service activities and trade.

Priority in carrying out construction works on this project will be given to domestic companies, which means additional support for the domestic workforce, Patria reports.
