(Patria) - Moscow authorities announced today that the Basmanny District Court has issued an arrest warrant for Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of opposition politician Alexei Navalny.
The court suspects Navalnaya of participating in the activities of an extremist group, and she has also been added to Russia's wanted list, reports RSE.
This move comes less than two weeks after Navalnaya was elected head of the Human Rights Foundation (HRF).
Navalnaya succeeded Garry Kasparov in this position, another Russian opposition figure living abroad.
The HRF is a New York-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting human rights worldwide.
