ELECTION FRAUD SIPA searches Asim Kamber's apartment in Sanski Most

SANSKI MOST, (Patria) - SIPA investigators early this morning began searching the apartment of federal MP Asim Kamber (SDA), suspected of election fraud. Kamber was summoned to Sanski Most.  The case is being handled by the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

"Searches are underway in the Una-Sana Canton due to grounds for suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Article 154 of the BiH Criminal Code - election fraud," said SIPA spokesperson Luka Miladinović.

Local portal Normala.ba reports that Asim Kamber is currently in Sarajevo and is expected to head towards Krajina at SIPA's request, as is his secretary Mirela Husić. Fazir Vukalić is also linked to this case.

The BiH Prosecutor's Office issued a public statement.

"Acting on the order of a prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption, and with an order from the BiH Court, police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), with the assistance of the Una-Sana Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs police, conducted searches of facilities and premises used by three suspects in the Sanski Most area. During the searches, certain evidence and documentation were seized. The activities were carried out within the framework of an investigation conducted by the BiH Prosecutor's Office against individuals suspected of committing the criminal offense of election fraud, under Article 154 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the 2018 general elections.

They are suspected of, in their capacity as members of election bodies, illegally voting using the data of deceased persons, as well as using votes for individuals who did not participate in the elections, with the aim of obtaining as many votes as possible for certain candidates from the Sanski Most area.

After being brought before the acting prosecutor, the prosecutor will question the suspects and make a decision on further actions in the case," stated the BiH Prosecutor's Office.
