Prosecutor's Office of BiH Responds to Davor Dragičević

Davor Dragičević, father of the late David, spent his first night in a tent in front of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, which he set up to express dissatisfaction with the investigation into his son's case, which has been ongoing for four years. He says he will stay there until the investigation moves forward. Numerous citizens have offered him support in his fight for truth and justice.

Dragičević announced that he would set up a tent in front of the state Prosecutor's Office exactly two months ago, when the Basic Court in Banja Luka acquitted two crime technicians, Mikica Marjanac and Zoran Bošnjak, of destroying evidence in his son's investigation. He has no confidence in the judicial institutions, but he will remain where he is now until the investigation moves forward.

"A year has passed since the case has been with the Prosecutor's Office of BiH. I believe they have the resources and everything, but most importantly, they have irrefutable evidence that David was abducted in the center of Banja Luka, not in Čekrčići or elsewhere, that he was tortured for six days and six nights, and that he was ultimately murdered," stated Dragičević, the father of the late David, N1 reports.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced that it is a complex case that requires time to gather all necessary evidence and analyze it.

"If the injured party, Mr. Dragičević, requests or expresses a desire to meet and talk with the prosecutor in charge, the request will be granted, as it has been multiple times in the past," the Prosecutor's Office of BiH announced.

Everything is now up to the Prosecutor's Office, but if justice fails again, Dragičević has announced that he will "take matters into his own hands."

"If they act arrogantly, just as they did before, I have plans for them, and I also have what I said I would do in the end, because something must happen this year," says Davor Dragičević.

He says he has great support from the citizens of Sarajevo, which encourages him to persevere in this fight. Those we encountered say that the tent and the demand for justice on the street are a disgrace to the entire country.

"I don't know if there is any shame left in this country anymore. That word has been devalued. I miss the time when people felt shame. No one here is ashamed of anything anymore," a citizen told us.

Dragičević was also visited by lawyer Ifet Feraget and Muriz Memić, father of the late Dženan. Although an expansion of the investigation in the Memić case is expected, skepticism remains.
