From the OHR to NAP: Only through cooperation with other agencies in BiH will RS police be able to serve citizens

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The authorities in Republika Srpska today presented a new unit of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Milorad Dodik said they have not abandoned the formation of a reserve police force.

The Office of the High Representative in BiH told the Patria news agency that "instead of trying to further militarize the Republika Srpska police, the authorities should focus on the professionalism, accountability, and cooperation of the RS police with other law enforcement agencies in BiH".
 
"Only in this way will the Republika Srpska police be able to serve its citizens and provide them with a sense of personal security and protection. In principle, Republika Srpska, like the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, needs less police and less weapons, not more.
 
Furthermore, considering the overall socio-economic situation in the entity, it would be expected that the authorities of Republika Srpska would direct their attention and resources to improving the lives of citizens, so that they are not forced to leave Republika Srpska," said the OHR to NAP.
