Bodies of a woman and a child pulled from Miljacka, no signs of violence

(Patria) - On Thursday evening, shortly before midnight, the Old Town Police Department received a report that a body had been spotted in the Miljacka river, in the Bentbaša area, in the riverbed. A patrol that went to the scene confirmed the claims in the report. Police officers, firefighters, ambulance, and the Mountain Rescue Service were dispatched to the scene.

At 01:30 AM, the body of a middle-aged woman was pulled out, and next to her - the body of a child up to 4 years old. Doctors confirmed the deaths of both individuals at the scene.

According to the information currently available, there are no visible injuries on the bodies, the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton Police announced.

The prosecutor supervised the investigation team and the investigation, which was carried out by members of the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton Police and a permanent court expert in medicine. The bodies of the deceased were transferred to the Bare morgue.

Police officers, under the supervision of the prosecutor, continue to work on clarifying all the circumstances of this event.
