Border Police Hiding Travel Orders, Official Vehicles Used 24/7 by Director and His Deputy

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The BiH Border Police has 353 vehicles, including 114 passenger cars and 114 vans, 67 off-road vehicles, eight trucks, 10 motorcycles, 12 ATVs, 27 boats and dinghies, and one snowmobile, according to data provided to Damir Arnaut, a representative of Our Party in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.

Further responding to the representative's questions, the BiH Border Police stated that 352 vehicles were categorized as specialized motor vehicles.

What the public knew and is now officially confirmed is that the director, deputy director, and assistant director use vehicles 24 hours a day.

However, the Border Police did not provide copies of the travel orders that Arnaut requested, justifying this by stating that they cannot be provided because the vehicles were used for carrying out police duties and tasks, as well as other security tasks within the jurisdiction of the BiH Border Police.

Incidentally, as Patria previously reported, Zoran Galić, the director of the BiH Border Police, endangered the lives of all border police officers working in the field, as well as other road users. In addition, Galić has significantly impaired the ability of border guards to perform their jobs professionally and effectively.

This is the summary of an anonymous letter from the BiH Border Police addressed to the Patria agency.

"Since, according to the Road Traffic Safety Law, all vehicles are required to have winter equipment, which includes winter tires or summer tires with a tread depth greater than 4 mm, and chains, I want to publicly ask the director of the BiH Border Police, Zoran Galić, who has not provided winter tires on the official vehicles of the BiH Border Police in accordance with the law," the letter states.
The explanation states that "official vehicles used in the field, meaning ALL VEHICLES used by police officers in state surveillance, are 100 percent non-functional, except for official vehicles used by commanders, chiefs, and inspectors, which are located in units or field offices."
