No one from CJB Banja Luka contacted us, nor are we aware of the fraud

After the media published information from the RS MUP that frauds against citizens buying through the online classifieds site OLX.ba are becoming more frequent, and that the latest in a series of victims is a young man from Šipovo who received a piece of wood instead of a phone, the authorities from the company Pik d.o.o. responded. 

-„The classifieds site Pik.ba“, a few months ago became part of the OLX group and changed its name to OLX.ba. Regarding the mentioned fraud, we have not been informed about it, nor has this „fraud“ been proven, given that no one from CJB Banja Luka contacted us to request the extraction of data about the user allegedly responsible for the fraud, nor have we been informed in any way about the fraud.

We do not dispute that there is a possibility that such a case occurred, but we believe it is irresponsible and unjustified to come forward with such information before the competent institutions establish its accuracy.

To prove such a claim, a certain procedure should have been followed: the „defrauded“ user reports the case to the competent institutions, the competent institutions submit a request to the company Pik d.o.o. for the extraction of user data (basic, personal information, communication via private messages or public questions...), after such a procedure all information reaches the competent courts, where it is determined whether the user's complaint/lawsuit is founded.

It is important to point out that the OLX.ba family today consists of more than one million and 200 thousand users, and that with the increase in the number of transactions, the possibility of fraud also increases, about which we inform, advise and instruct via the OLX blog, and it is very important that users do not approach buying and selling naively, and that they contact us if they have any dilemma when buying/selling.

In order to reduce the number of frauds, we have also provided users with lower prices for the transport of goods through our partner service, thus enabling safer trade.
