Ivanić calls emergency session of BiH Presidency due to revision of the verdict

An emergency session of the BiH Presidency on the request to initiate a revision of the verdict in the lawsuit against Serbia has been scheduled for Thursday, February 23, at the request of Mladen Ivanić, Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Patria reports.

Ivanić stated today after a meeting with representatives of the Alliance for Change that, following talks with the leaders of the Alliance for Change, which is part of the ruling coalition at the state level in BiH, he decided to cancel the next regular session and schedule an emergency one.

- I decided to do this as a last attempt to return things in BiH to legal institutions, and to avoid parallelism and exclusivity, and I did it now after it became clear that Mr. Izetbegović decided to submit a request for a revision of the verdict. Convening a meeting before that decision was pointless, because I am not naive enough to believe that he would have given up on it based on a prior meeting. After this decision to go for revision, my obligation is to make one more effort, and that is to return things to legal institutions, which (the session of the BiH Presidency, editor's note) I have the right to convene according to the rules of procedure. It is up to my colleagues to decide whether they will come, how they will react, and make their choice - said Ivanić.

Otherwise, on Wednesday, political representatives from the RS should meet with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić and discuss the current situation.
