Ivanić in Brussels: Filling out the questionnaire is just a technical part of the job

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić discussed in Brussels with the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and the European Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn about BiH's European path and the obligations that lie ahead.

Ivanić reiterated that there is a firm commitment and agreement among all political actors in BiH on this issue and emphasized that a new phase awaits BiH from December 9, when the process of filling out answers to the European Commission's Questionnaire should begin.

The interlocutors agreed that filling out the answers is only a technical part of the job, and that the essential issue is the overall political environment in BiH.

President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and European Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn agreed that BiH has made significant political progress and emphasized that the duration of the phase of filling out answers to the questions from the Questionnaire is not crucial, and that BiH will have support in this phase.

The interlocutors agreed that this will also be the first test for the adopted coordination system in BiH. Ivanić pointed out to Juncker and Hahn the need for stronger regional cooperation and informed them about the idea of organizing a trilateral meeting of BiH, Serbia, and Croatia on pressing political issues.

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić previously met with the European Parliament's Special Rapporteur for BiH, Cristian Dan Preda, who informed him about the draft of his report.

Ivanić believes that the report is fair and that all problems in BiH have been listed, but that the expectation for solutions to be found for them is also evident.
