Ivanić: The referendum was Dodik's pre-election move aimed at declaring the opposition traitors

Mladen Ivanić, member of the BiH Presidency, gave an interesting statement to yesterday's Montenegrin Pobjeda about the unconstitutional referendum in RS, reports the Patria News Agency.  

- If we from the opposition had opposed the referendum, we would have been accused of being traitors, and that would have led to a complete victory for SNSD in the elections - Ivanić said.

In the interview, Ivanić confirmed that the referendum was exclusively Dodik's pre-election act:

- I repeat, the plan was for us to reject this referendum and be declared traitors. After our support for the referendum, that plan failed, I don't think Dodik will benefit from this at all.

Ivanić claims that this referendum legalized the thesis that Dodik and Izetbegović support each other.

- Bakir Izetbegović is stronger when Dodik attacks him, and Dodik is stronger when Izetbegović attacks him – they cannot do without each other. I think the people have understood this, and from that point of view, the referendum will have no impact on the local elections, and the opposition's participation in the vote was a smart move.
